In late April, a hand full of Yanush members made the four hour haul up to beautiful Camp Tom Hale, outside of Talahina, Oklahoma. The event was the Section 3 Conclave, held annually and hosted by a lodge within the section. Ta Tsu Hwa Lodge 138 out of the Indian Nations Council in Tulsa was on hand to host and staff this event. Order of the Arrow members from 13 lodges representing 13 councils came to this event. Even a few folks from the Texas Panhandle drove all the way to Eastern Oklahoma for Conclave. Amoung Arrowmen, this has become a must-see program. | ![]() |

Several activities were offered including competative dance and ceremonies, regalia workshops, training(right) for various areas of the order, games, patch trading and evening shows. There were a total of 6 Yanush members(left: Michael Yancey and Frank Cusimano) out of the 140 Mikanakawans at Conclave. Aside from the host lodge, Mikanakawa brought the most members. There were about 700 people at Conclave, which is almost as big as our own Camporees here in the North Trail District. | ![]() |
| There was also a Native American Pow-Wow held at Conclave. Pow-Wows traditionally begin with a Grand Entry(below left) which honors the American Flag and allows all the dancers to enter the dance ring. There are several forms of dancing ranging from the traditional style to grass dancing to the more complex outfits and physical movements of fancy dancing(below). Pow-Wow also has oppertunities for audience members to get up and try dancing(below right). Overall it was a very successful event. Our Yanush members had a great time and we look foward to Conclave next year at Camp Slippery Falls. |
