After the previous weekend's Ordeal, we saw a swell in meeting attendence this month. The Chapter was visited by members of the District and Council Emergency Prepardness Committee. Rob Kyker, thanked the Chapter for their involvement with other Arrowmen in Dallas in the local relief efforts following the devastation of hurricane Katrina. As a gesture of gratitude, Mr. Kyker presented his Emergency Prepardness Lapel Pin, which was issued to him by Chief Scout Executive Roy Williams, to our Chapter Chief, Matt Caanen. | ![]() |

The topic of this month was Native American Ceremonies and Regalia. On hand to teach the Yanush members about this subject were ceremonies gurus, Jim Slaughter(right) and John Moses(left), from Ogequah Chapter. Mr. Moses talked about the ways in which Arrowmen can get involved in ceremonies and regalia making, while Mr. Slaughter talked about the meanings and symbolisms in ceremonies as well as comparing an old Yanush buffalo headdress to a Russian Ushanka. | ![]() |
