Fallen Brother – Will Yancey
By Web Advisor | February 12, 2010
My brothers,
It is with great sadness that I must share with you that one of our fellow Vigil Arrowmen, William Fredrick Yancey, has passed away. Will served Scouting and the Order of the Arrow in many capacities. In recent years, Will served as the Associate Adviser of Administration in the Yanush Chapter as well as serving the lodge as the Finance Adviser. It was Will’s background as a CPA and his careful attention to the chapter’s budget that earned him the Vigil Indian name, “Devil of the North Trail Details”.
He is survived by wife, Carol, son, Michael, sister Julie and husband Kevin, sister Margaret and husband Gordon, and many nieces and nephews, including Wendy who lived several years with the Yancey family. Please keep the Yancey family in your thoughts and prayers. Scouts and Scouters attending the Monday Service are encouraged to dress in full Class A with their OA Sash.

Live Blog from meeting
By VC of Information and Technology | February 9, 2010
What You Missed:
“There was a meeting tonight?” Yes, yes there was. Meetings are every second Tuesday of the month (the next one is March 9). They start at 7:30 at First United Methodist Church 503 N Central Expressway. Now, I understand we all miss sometimes, so I’ll fill in what happenned. Our keynote speaker tonight talked about Sea Scouts, a fun option for scouts between 14 and 21. They visit Lake Ray Hubbard to practice Sailing, Motor Boating, Canoeing, and Rowing. Next Roland talked about the need for helpers with the Native American Ceremonies, they get to wear all the gear, and, as Roland said: “take their shirts off… sometimes.” Travis talked about the need for more people on the elections teams. If you are interested in either of these, feel free to email Max (the link is on the “Leadership” page). We also discussed Camporee (March 6th). Here are some photos taken during the meeting:
Meeting has begun and we’re talking high adventure.
Roland is teaching ceremonies.

Yanush Brings Home Honors at Annual Lodge Dinner
By VC of Information and Technology | January 17, 2010

- 2009 Yanush Chapter Chief Ethan Ward accepts the award for Honor Chapter.
Congratulations Yanush Chapter! At the Annual Lodge Dinner, Yanush received several awards, including the Honor Chapter Award 2009. The chapter has been awarded this honor enough times to become the recipients of the prestigious Pacesetter Award. This award is rarely given, and Yanush is honored to have it. But our chapter would not stop there! Yanush also had numerous members receive their call out for the vigil level of membership. 2009 was been a great year for Yanush, but the boys aren’t planning on quitting there! Expect more to come in 2010!

New Yanush Website Launched
By Web Advisor | November 12, 2009
If you’ve been to yanush.org before to today, then maybe the site is looking a little different to you. Well, as the headline says, we have indeed launched the new Yanush Chapter website!
Have a look around, but we are still adding pages and articles. Some of the content from the old site has been migrated over and we are planning on making many of the old articles and pages available to preserve our chapter’s history going forward. Also, we expect to be adding more functionality with this site in the near future we will announce those new features as we release them.
The Yanush Web Team is happy to hear feedback about the site and we would love to have arrowmen who want to help us develop the site. If you’re interested in getting involved with the website or any other program area in the Yanush Chapter, please contact us! If you’re still looking for content from the old site, for now, it is here. But that old site is just an archive, any of the information there is NOT considered current.
